2024 MBOR Award Recipients

I’m reflecting on all MBOR has accomplished this year. I’ve previously told you about fundraising and food drives. I’ve told you our 400+ members, are embedded in the community and I also told you about landmark changes to our industry.

This week, we held our Holiday Luncheon where I was honored to present awards. I did not take this lightly when selecting the recipients. Without further ado, here are the 2024 award recipients.

  1. Although it was not one of our previously established awards, I wanted to present a token of appreciation to ’23 MBOR President, Eve Leombruno. She set me up for success through one-on-one meetings as I started my year in ’24. Thank you, Eve!
  2. The Rising Star Award was presented to Treasurer, Brenda Page. While Brenda is not a new Realtor, she was new to the Board of Directors, and she aided me at strategic times. She gave me the necessary assurance on critical issues when tough behind-the-scenes decisions had to be made.
  3. The Heart Award – Stephanie Lemley is one of my predecessors as President, served in this role during the difficult COVID era and did so for two years due to that circumstance. In the spirit of full disclosure, Stephanie happens to be my Broker, but the reason I selected her for the Heart Award is due to her mentorship spirit. She enlightened me on critical issues early on, which was invaluable in my presidency.
  4. President’s Award – Emily Cole came aboard as our new Executive Officer several months ago but wasted no time, in making my job as President so much easier. Thank you for your initiative on various fronts, Emily!
  5. Outstanding Achievement Award – consideration for this award actually goes back years. Steve Walker has been a Broker / Owner for a long time, and he’s also a former MBOR President. What truly caught my attention this year, however, is as we were going through challenges in our industry on a national level, he stepped up to provide sage wisdom and guidance in private meetings for our local Brokers, but also in an open session to our full membership. Thank you for sharing your expert knowledge and experience for the betterment of MBOR, Steve!
  6. Realtor of the Year – Jenn Haggerty previously served on our Board of Directors. She’s an elected member of the Mon County Board of Education and in an entrepreneurial venture is part owner of a new brokerage. After urging from our nominating committee, she agreed to run for President-Elect and as a result of winning, will serve as the 2026 MBOR President.

I want to thank our MBOR Committee for producing our luncheon this week. Behind their leadership, we not only enjoyed food and fellowship with each other, but we collected toys which ‘Christian Help’ will distribute to both Mon and Preston counties. I also want to throw a quick shout out to ‘Country Roads Moving’ for transporting those donated toys after the event.

Next week, I’ll tell you about our final charitable event of the year!
